Our Group Is:
A prayer group for men and women, who are newly diagnosed, still-in-treatment, or who have finished treatment. Friends, family and caregivers are invited to attend.
This group is meant to provide spiritual and emotional support to cancer patients and their loved ones through prayer.
Believers and non-believers are welcome.
Prayer concerns discussed within the group are confidential – what is prayed in the group, stays in the group!
Our Group is Not:
This group is not a substitute or replacement for professional medical care.
This group is not a substitute or replacement for services and advice provided by your medical team or organizations like Midland Community Cancer Services.
Generally speaking, we do not discuss or give referrals/opinions about doctors, facilitates, treatments, etc.. Prayer, encouragement and spiritual support is the purpose of our meeting.
Who We Can Be:
Prayer is and should always be the main focus of our reason for meeting. Support groups for other needs within cancer care already exist. With help from group members, we can pursue some of the following ideas:
Book discussions. See "Suggested Reading" on this blog, or suggest your own book!
Prayer Chain.
Snacks. A small snack is always a nice thing to have. Any volunteers? A sign up sheet?
Your ideas! This is our group – what are you looking for in this prayer group?
